Everis ADS led the inspection of the marine infrastructure of a refinery using an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV). Currently aquatic robots (ROVs) can be used for underwater inspections, but they are limited by the cable connection. However, in this project a completely autonomous vehicle that could carry out the mission by travelling several kilometres without the limitation of a connecting cable was used.
Integrated cameras and sonar were used to obtain information from underwater installations and extend periodic preventive maintenance.
