Madrid, December 13, 2017 – The Colombian Aviation Industry Corporation (CIAC) and everis Aerospace, Defense and Security (everis ADS) have signed a strategic joint marketing agreement for unmanned aerial systems. The agreement was signed at the Expodefensa fair by the director of CIAC, General Flavio Ulloa, and the partner responsible for the Aeronautics area at everis, Juan Bosco Morales de los Ríos.
Juan Bosco Morales de los Ríos has underscored the importance of signing an agreement of this nature with an organization like the CIAC, and has stressed that the agreement “allows everis to internationally promote its line of unmanned systems internationally, in which the company has leading platforms and developments”.
The everis Aerospace and Defense group showcased at the CIAC Expodefensa booth two of its star products: UAS Atlantic and Tucan, by SCR. The Atlantic is a midrange and high-performance UAS that can be used in both military and civilian operations. It is a fixed-wing platform made of composite materials with a take-off weight of 50 kg and prepared for the installation of a wide variety of payloads. These features render Atlantic a versatile and robust system which also stands out for its user-friendliness.
The Tucan platform is a smaller UAS, with a lower take-off weight of 5 kg and a span of 2.73 m. It uses an electric propulsion system with a range of 90 minutes and is designed for quick start action.
The Colombian Aeronautical Industry Corporation (CIAC) is a company that provides maintenance, modernization, and manufacturing of parts and aircrafts for training purposes manufactured primarily in composite materials. It is currently working on projects for developing remotely piloted aerial vehicles.
